Leaders belonging to various political parties were arrested by the police when they staged a demonstration protesting the Chief Minister’s visit.

District Congress Committee (DCC) president N. Rajender Reddy, TDP senior leader Ega Mallesham, BJP Mahila State vice-president K Ravali and others were taken into custody.

They were protesting asking the Chief Minister not visiting the district until he fulfils all his promises made during his earlier visits.

The leaders of Congress, TDP, BJP and YSRCP, Forum for Better Warangal, BC JAC and others took part in the protest demonstration held at Ambedkar statue in Hanamkonda.

Addressing the gathering, district Congress president N Rajender Reddy and others said the much talked underground drainage, double bed room housing, upgradation of MGM Hospital among others remain a distant dream.

The city Congress leaders Rajanala Srihari and K Srinivas Rao said the promise of underground drainage in Warangal is yet to be delivered despite promises by the Chief Minister on several occasions.

The TPCC general secretary N Srinivas, BJP leader Vijaya Lakshmi, TDP leaders P Ashok, BC JAC leader T Sheshu, Forum for Better Warangal leader P Sudhakar and others took part in the agitation.

The arrested leaders were taken to Hanamkonda and Subedari police stations and released later.
