One held, 225 kg of ganja seized

The city police arrested one person and seized 225 kg of ganja from him here on Tuesday. Commissioner of Police G. Sudheer Babu said that they had taken into custody one Subhash Chouhan of Jalgam district of Maharashtra while transporting ganja from Paderu area near Visakhapatnam to Maharashtra in a car. Two others accompanying the accused – Ganesh and Charan ran away. The Commissioner said that they changed the car number plates and procured ganja near Paderu. While returning, they stopped in Hanamkonda on Monday night. On seeing the police conducting vehicle check operations in Nayeemnagar, they tried to take a U-turn and while doing so hit the road divider. The police spotting the incident came running to help the victims. On checking, the police found 90 packets of ganja. During the interrogation, Chouhan confessed to his crime.
