Officials suspended for selling relief material

Two police personnel of Mahabubnagar district- T. Satyanarayana, SI and V. Rama Rao, head-constable have been suspended from service as they were found selling away relief material meant for distribution to flood-affected families in the district, to traders and kirana merchants. The material involved in the misdeed included 28 bags of rice, four bags of tamarind, and two bags of red-gram dal. They were found disposing of the material at Veeravalli market place in Mahaubnagar town. After coming to know about this, Director General of Police R. R. Girish Kumar placed both of them under suspension. Information Minister J. Geetha Reddy disclosed this to reporters here on Thursday.
