Mystery shrouds the death of a constable on deputation with Octopus, the anti-terrorist outfit of the State police, after he was found in a pool of blood in the high-security zone, close to the Chief Minister’s camp office.

While the police said that the 23-year old constable died due to his 9 mm pistol misfiring, it was not ascertained how the incident took place. Sources however revealed that the deceased, R. Siva Kumar, was unhappy over some personal issues.

Native of Adilabad

The victim, R. Siva Kumar, a native of Adilabad district, was attached to the 13 Battalion of the Telangana State Special Police (TSSP).

According to the Panjagutta police, the incident took place on Sunday evening after which he was rushed to Yashoda Hospital, and then to the Nizam’s Institute of Medical Science (NIMS), where he died later.

“His body will be taken to the Gandhi Hospital on Monday morning for post mortem,” said a police official.
