A four-year-old boy died after a speeding school bus hit him near his house at Bahadurpally village under Dundigal police station limits on Saturday morning.

The victim, N. Vijay Kumar, a nursery school student, was playing on the roadside along with two of his friends when they noticed a bus coming onto the main road from an adjacent lane. Vijay then tried to cross the road when the bus hit him, resulting in grievous head injuries. He died instantly, Dundigal Sub-Inspector M. Srinivas said.

He said the St. Antony’s School bus came to Bahadurpally to pick up three students in the locality. The police have registered a case under Section 304A of the IPC (causing death by negligence) against the bus driver Balraj and taken him into custody.
