Missed out on visiting the annual extravaganza ‘Numaish’? Owing to the popular demand the exhibition has been extended for two more days and will be closed on Sunday, Exhibition Society honorary secretary R. Sukesh Reddy said.

Society received requests from stall-owners and public to extend the fair for two more days. Because of this demand the deadline has been extended to Sunday, Mr. Reddy said.

“More than 18 lakh people have already visited the exhibition and we expect about three lakh people to visit the stalls in the remaining three days,” he said during the exhibition valedictory function held here on Friday.

Society president and Panchayatraj Minister K. Jana Reddy said that Numaish has grown over the years and is now the biggest industrial exhibition in the country.

Exhibition gave seasonal work to more than 20,000 people through 2,500 stalls and other administrative functions. The money earned through this exhibition will be used for providing education particularly for educating girl children in Telangana and in areas falling under the erstwhile Hyderabad State, he said.

Awards distributed

AP High Court Chief Justice Pinaki Chandra Ghose gave away gold medals to the meritorious students from the educational institutions run by the Exhibition Society. He also gave awards to the stall-owners who topped in three categories – Decoration, Demonstration and Publicity.

He gave Shankarji Memorial Gold Medals to nine students and L.N. Gupta Memorial Gold Medals to five students.
