Now, pay municipal taxes at select banks

Minister for IT & Panchayat Raj K. Taraka Rama Rao on Monday formally launched the GHMC facility which enables payments of taxes with select bank branches.

According to a press release, the taxes of civic body could be paid at any of the 323 branches of seven banks -- State Bank of Hyderabad, Kotak Mahindra Bank, IndusInd Bank, ING Vysya Bank, Yes Bank, Indian Bank and HDFC Bank.

GHMC Commissioner and Special Officer Somesh Kumar said separate counters have been organised in all these bank branches for the convenience of tax payers and payments could also be made through credit or debit card, according to a press release.

Madhuranagar Colony in the city has decided to go litter-free with its welfare association engaging six vehicles for collection and shifting of garbage and prohibiting dustbins.

'The fleet of six vehicles was flagged off by GHMC Circle 10 Deputy Commissioner, M.S.S. Soma Raju here on Monday.

The Madhuranagar Welfare Association have informed the colony residents through a circular.
