Junior doctors take out rally demanding immediate release of their course completion certificates

The strike by PG doctors in Hyderabad and elsewhere completed 16 days on Tuesday amid no signs of talks between the protesting medicos and the health authorities.

The boycott, which has crippled medical services at government hospitals, continues with neither the health authorities nor the medicos able to hold talks and reach an amicable solution.

On Tuesday, the striking medicos took out a rally from Osmania Medical College (OMC) to Osmania General Hospital (OGH) and demanded that the authorities immediately release their course completion certificates. The junior doctors also maintained that they were open to sit across the table and hold talks with officials.

Tertiary hospitals

Meanwhile, services at all government tertiary hospitals continued to be affected with the boycott by junior doctors. Senior doctors maintained that despite temporary arrangements and attending duties without break for the past fortnight, staff shortage was hindering medical services.
