Southern parts of Telangana are likely to get relief from the scorching heat during the week, but there is no such hope for the city, suggests the India Meteorological Department.

The IMD has forecast maximum temperatures over 40 degrees Celsius on all but one day of the week. However, it warned of thunderstorm in southern parts on Monday.

Temperatures recorded in southern Telangana were relatively lower compared to those recorded in northern Telangana districts. Gollapalle in Jagitial recorded 43.8 degree Celsius, according to the State government’s Development Planning Society.

IMD recorded 40 degrees Celsius at its Begumpet office, while the Society recorded 42.3 degrees Celsius in the city on Sunday.
