Syed Musaddiq Wahiuddin Qadri, member of Jaleel Ansari terrorist module arrested by Mumbai Anti-Terrorist Squad recently, was not involved in any terror activity in Hyderabad, police said on Monday.
Qadri of Mumbai shifted to Hyderabad seven years ago having fabricated his death. He was earlier charged with involvement in several robberies and of being an associate of Ansari, who was convicted for organising bomb blasts across the country and facing trial now.
“No evidence of Qadri's involvement in any terror activity in Hyderabad was found so far. He changed his name here but kept travelling to Mumbai,” Hyderabad Police Commissioner, A.K. Khan, told reporters on Monday. Qadri acquired a ration card and a driving license in the name of Imran Abu Mansoor Hasni in Hyderabad.
Qadri beheaded an unidentified man and burnt the body in his house in 2003 leading the investigators to believe that the charred body was his.
He later shifted to Hyderabad and lived in a rented house at Arabgunj in Golconda area, and lived by selling perfumes.
