Congress deputy floor leader in Telangana Council Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy accused NITI Aayog Vice Chairman Rajiv Kumar of creating a rift between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana with his ‘irresponsible’ statements on State bifurcation and tax payers.
Referring to Mr. Rajiv Kumar’s reported comments that 40% of taxpayers in Hyderabad belong to the Andhra Pradesh region and that State would automatically develop if they all moved out of Hyderabad to Andhra Pradesh. Mr. Reddy said such statements will only create bad blood between the people of two states.
He asked whether Telugu tax payers residing in other states in the country should also be sent back to their respective States for improving the tax collections here. He advised Mr. Kumar to allocate funds to the two states as promised in the A.P. Reorganisation Act rather than making such irresponsible statements.
Mr. Reddy said the health sector in Telangana badly needs to be revived. Though the Commissioner of Health and Family Welfare, Vakati Karuna was a good officer she has been given additional responsibilities and due to that there was no proper monitoring of hospitals.
