“Learning is a never ending process. Follow your heart to achieve your dreams.” This was the message conveyed by the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) Director-General Prem Kumar Gera to young designers at the NIFT’s convocation ceremony held here on Thursday. Over 154 students passed out this year.
“Keep your dreams alive and continue your journey. Every day is different and there is nothing constant other than change itself. Don’t get disheartened and remember that there are different ways to think about the same issue,” Mr. Gera advised.
He announced that the NIFT would start a website containing more details about the institute as well as the former students.
Bachelor programmes
'The convocation ceremony was held for students who graduated from the four-year Bachelor Programmes in fashion, leather, accessory, textile designs and apparel production along with students from the two-year Master Programmes – Master of Design, Master of Fashion Management and Master of Fashion Technology.
A model-cum-student, Natasha Ramachandran was awarded for best all round performance, while Anushree Anil Biyani got the academic excellence with community service award. Kondapalli Mrunalini, Yadala Haritha, Uma Anupindi, Divya Kaushal and Tanya Pal got the best academic performance awards. “It’s been great to study in this institute. From now onwards, we will miss all the euphoria,” said Natasha Ramachandran, who is aspiring to become a trend analyst.
The swanky auditorium was packed with promising faces, draped in white and light golden attire, with their black coats on.
On the other side, for the graduating students, it was an emotional farewell as they bid adieu to their years of attachment with batchmates, friends, faculty and the campus life.
Gautam Chand Jain of Pokarna Group of Industries and J.J. Valaya of Valaya Luxury Holdings Private Limited graced the occasion.
