The logo of the a new TV news channel, “10 TV” promoted by various wings of CPI (M) and uniquely set up with contributions from as many as 1. 65 lakh people was launched by the Chief Minister, N. Kiran Kumar Reddy in Hyderabad on Friday.

Mr. Reddy used the forum to clarify that he was not against the media, as projected by a section and said that he was only opposed to misrepresentation of facts. He lamented that quite often only negative aspects attracted media attention and not positive developments.

Events should be presented in a fair manner avoiding sensationalism and dependence on rating, he said. The CPI (M) State secretary B.V. Raghavulu and other leaders were present. The managing director of the channel Venugopal described it as a cooperative venture with each of the 1.65 lakh people, contributing Rs. 2,000 to Rs. 4000. The 10 TV chairman and MLC, K. Nageshwar said the channel aimed to play a meaningful role.
