Water problem in several areas in Khairatabad Assembly constituency is set to ease with the opening of a 6 ML capacity reservoir at Thattikhana on Road No. 10, Banjara Hills.

The two-tier ground level service reservoir executed at a cost of Rs. 4.50 crore under JNNURM will improve pressure in the distribution network, a problem plaguing residents in these parts.
Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy inaugurated the reservoir at a brief function here on Thursday. Ministers -- J. Geetha Reddy and Danam Nagender – and M. Anjan Kumar Yadav, MP, were present on the occasion.
The newly inaugurated reservoir will serve a population of 1.5 lakh covering 8,573 connections. An immediate benefit will be longer duration of supply, equitable distribution and reliable water supply.
The areas which stand to benefit from the 3.7 ML lower tier reservoir are; Indranagar, Road. No. 2, Sagar Society, Arora Colony, Kamalapuri Phase III, Venkateshwara Nagar, Road No. 14, B.N. Reddy Nagar, Nandi Nagar, Rao and Raju Colony, L.V. Prasad, Annapurna Studio Road, Jawahar Nagar (part), Red Cross and Hyderabad Gymkhana Club Road.
The upper tier reservoir with 2.3 ML capacity will benefit MLA Colony, Road No. 12, 10 (part), Singada Kunta (part), Udaynagar (part), Ambedkar Nagar, N.B. Basthi, NBT Nagar, Resham Bagh, Sri Ram Nagar, Bhola Nagar, Khaja Nagar, Durga Nagar Enclave, Kaushik Society and Mithila Nagar.
