New inmates to enliven city zoo

The Nehru Zoological Park on Sunday will add a pair each of hyena and wolf to its collection of animals, birds and reptiles. The hyena pair was brought from the Kanpur Zoo, while the Indian wolf pair came from the Mysore Zoo.

More events

Apart from moving these animals to the display area for visitors, the zoo authorities have lined up other events for Sunday.

Amphitheatre

Chief Secretary Minnie Mathew will inaugurate enclosures for mouse deer and scarlet macaw birds, while Principal Chief Conservator of Forests S.V. Kumar will inaugurate an amphitheatre, whic is set up for holding interactive programmes on animals for visitors to the zoo.
