A new building for the Sishu Vihar Montessori School of Andhra Yuvati Mandali, a non-profit organisation catering specially to the education of girl children, was inaugurated here on Thursday. The building was constructed with Rs. 21 lakh donated by Konda Lakshman Bapuji, in memory of his wife Shakuntala Devi, late vice-president of the Mandali. The new block can accommodate over 100 children of the Sishu Vihar, which currently has over 50 students. Incorporating traditional methods of education along with Montessori education, the school is part of the Burgula Ramakrishna Rao (BRR) Girls High School, Barkatpura and has nursery, L.K.G and U.K.G sections. “The school aims to provide best Montessori education to children belonging to low income group families at affordable price. Since we are a non-profit organisation we are currently in need of donations,” said Manjula Devi, Correspondent of the school.
