New bridge to ease traffic at Langerhouz

October 04, 2010 04:21 pm | Updated November 17, 2021 05:23 am IST - Hyderabad:

In an effort to ensure smooth flow of traffic on the Kalimatha locality - PVNR Expressway road, the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) is constructing a road bridge over the Musi River near Bapughat at Langerhouz.

At present, motorists from Kalimatha locality and Military area heading towards PVNR Expressway via Langerhouz are forced to take a right turn beneath the flyover which makes it cumbersome for them as they are made to burn extra fuel, says a HMDA senior official.

The 300-metre bridge from Bapughat to Attapur Colony road would ease traffic at Langerhouz as motorists do not have to take a right turn and in the process the distance would be reduced by at least two kms. This apart, the bridge will also aid in smooth flow of traffic towards Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Shamshabad, he explains.

The bridge would have six piers and two abutments and is being constructed with an estimated cost of Rs.5 crore.
