Four workers of the Hotel City Light, which crumbled on Monday morning in Secunderabad, were missing till late in the night raising suspicions that they might be trapped under the debris.

Along with the workers, the hotel owner’s nephew Ali Kirmani too remained untraced. He was believed to be in the kitchen along with the workers when the building caved in.

“Efforts are on to trace them and searches continued at the site to ascertain if anybody was alive and caught in the debris,” the North zone Additional DCP Narender Reddy said.

Till 10 p.m., the police and the GHMC teams could clear nearly 40 per cent of the debris. The remaining rubble would be cleared by Tuesday morning, the police said.
