Son of a doctor couple, Lakkisetti Arnav Trinath, topped the Telugu states in the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) held for admissions into medical colleges in the country.
Trinath, a student of Sri Chaitanya College in Sardar Patel Nagar in the city, also bagged 35th rank and 38th rank in JIPMER. “I will join AIIMS,” said Trinath. Both his parents are doctors. His father is an opthalmologist in Maxi vision while his mother is a physician in Prime Hospitals.
Telugu students bagged some handsome ranks with more than 22 students figuring in the top 100 ranks competing with 11 lakh students who wrote the NEET across the country.
Most of the toppers in the two states come from the Sri Chaitanya Narayana group.
Open category
At a press conference here, Sindhura Narayana and Seema, directors of Sri Chaitanya and Narayana groups, said that the institutions kept the Telugu spirit intact taking 22 ranks in the open category apart from several in the top 1000. They said the top rankers include Narredy Manvita (14), Mangani Deepika (24), Adusumilli Venkata Hemanth (30), Aleti Akhila (32), Pavuluri Sai Swetha (36), Jambula Anusha Reddy (38), Phani Sri Lasya (51).
They said the group students also bagged 52, 54, 56, 57, 59, 70, 72, 73, 74, 86, 89, 90, 93, 98 in the top 100 thus being the top institution in the country. The directors of the educational institutions attributed the success to the hard work put in by the students and the guidance they get at the institutions where students are exposed to various examinations to compete with the best.
