A local court here on Monday issued a Non-Bailable Warrant (NBW) against Telugu film actress Jeevitha, wife of film actor Rajasekhar, in connection with a cheque bounce case.

It has also asked the Jubilee Hills police to execute the NBW and produce the actress in the court on October 29.

The court gave these directions while responding to a petition filed by a retired Commissioner of Sales Tax A. Paramdama Reddy stating that Jeevitha approached him in December 2012 requesting Rs. 35 lakh as loan. She also promised to return the amount within three months.

Mr. Reddy gave the amount and at that time she had executed a promissory note and also gave two post-dated cheques, the petitioner’s advocate J.K Siddartha explained.

He said the actress failed to repay the amount even after completion of three months.

Mr. Reddy repeatedly requested her to repay the amount in vain. He then approached the fifth Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court four months ago. The court had asked her to appear in the court on September 20 but she failed to do so and her advocate filed a petition explaining the reasons for non-appearance. The court then posted the matter for Monday, but the actress did not appear this time too, Mr. Siddartha said.

After hearing the arguments, the court issued a NBW against the actress.
