Nayani flags off police vehicles

Keeping its promise of providing new vehicles to police in the districts, the State government on Sunday allotted 565 new vehicles. Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy on Sunday flagged off the new fleet of vehicles at a function held at Necklace Road here.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Reddy said the government is committed to provide full support to the police department. He reiterated that the development of any State depends upon its law and order situation.

“If law and order is under control there is growth and prosperity. The government has already earmarked substantial budget to the police department and will always look into genuine demands of policemen,” he added. The new fleet of vehicles include Bolero, Tata Sumo and Innova SUVs.

All the 15 Innova cars were allotted to Warangal city police.

Director General of Police Anurag Sharma said that the new vehicles will be with the Station House Officers (SHOs) of the police stations and called upon the officials to make optimum use of it in combating crime and other duties.

Deputy Chief Minister Mohd. Mahmood Ali, Member of Legislative Council Mohd. Saleem were present on the occasion .
