Mukesh Goud arrested for poll code violation, released

Former Minister and Congress nominee from Goshamahal Assembly constituency, Mukesh Goud, Begum Bazar corporator Shankar Yadav and BJP candidate from Goshamahal Raja Singh were arrested by the West Zone police on Thursday on charge of violating poll code.

They were later released on furnishing personal sureties, the West zone DCP V. Satyanarayana said. Two cases were registered against Goud and Yadav by the police of Mangalhat and Shahinayatgunj for taking out bike rally without permission while the former filed nomination papers the previous day. They were arrested by the Shahinayatgunj police and released later.

In another case of poll code violation pertaining to tagging of BJP banner during Shobha Yatra two days ago, the Mangalhat police arrested Singh. He too was released on bail. Cases were also registered against candidates of TRS, Congress and BJP from Karvaan, Jeevan Singh, Roop Singh and Baddam Bal Reddy respectively, Congress nominee from Jubilee Hills, Vishnu Vardhan Reddy and Manne Goverdhan of TRS and Nand Bilal Vyas of BJP from Goshamahal on charge of poll code violation.
