Karimnagar Member of Parliament B. Vinod Kumar has said that he is only doing what he had learnt from Telangana statehood movement.

“My job is to see to it that I get more funds from the Centre for the development of the entire State in general, and my constituency in particular,” he maintained.

He attributed his number one ranking to the support of people and the legislators of his constituency.

Mr Vinod Kumar had been declared by Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao as the best performing Member of Parliament in the State as per the survey ordered by him.

Talking to The Hindu on Sunday, he said that one of the biggest achievements was the allocation of ₹350 crore in single stroke by the Union Government for the execution of Chief Minister’s ambitious railway line project from Kothapalli in Karimnagar district to Manoharabad in the budget this year for which foundation stone was laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in August 2016.

The Member of Parliament said that he had secured several national highways to Karimnagar district which include -- Jagtial-Karimnagar-Warangal, Karimnagar-Sircilla-Kamareddy-Pitlam, Sircilla-Siddipet-Jangaon-Suryapet, Sironcha-Athmakur-Kaleshwaram, Nirmal-Khanapur-Jagtial, Badrachalam to Kautala of Adilabad district etc.

“I have plans to make the stretch from Karimnagar to Rayapatnam as National Highway, and convert the existing State Highway Rajiv Rahadhari till Mancherial into National Highway,” he said.

He said that he is also taking measures for taking up a railway line from Karimnagar to Kazipet so that all trains passing from south India could proceed to Maharashtra via Nizamabad.

Claiming that he has over 85% attendance in the Parliament, Mr. Vinod Kumar said that he tops from the State in raising questions in the Parliament.

He said that he had secured AIIMS to the State and would definitely get the Smart City status to Karimnagar town.

Mr. Vinod Kumar said that plans are on cards to set up an ultra-modern super speciality hospital in Karimnagar town with the support of the Netherlands Government.
