MoU on joint replacement signed

SVS Medical College Hospital in Mahabubnagar, where a joint replacement facility is functioning under senior surgeon K.J. Reddy, has signed an MoU with designer joint replacement surgeon Philip Hirst of Manchester Royal Infirmary, U.K.

The MoU is for developing a centre of excellence in joint replacements to bring about technologically advanced precision among the ortho surgeons. The objective is to share expertise on joint replacements and impart training through demonstration of latest surgical techniques by live surgeries, seminars, workshops, master class and enhance the level of skills of ortho surgeons, a release from the Hospital said.

Dr. Hirst said he was pleased to be associated with this tie-up to improve skills of the surgeons and quality of life of persons suffering from severe arthritis and requiring joint replacements.

Dr. Reddy said the MoU will go a long way in mitigating the suffering of the lower and middle class.
