Andhra Pradesh Chief Secretary S.P. Tucker on Tuesday requested SCR General Manager Ravindra Gupta to introduce new trains to improve connectivity between Rayalaseema region and new capital city of Andhra Pradesh.

Both officials discussed various pending and proposed railway projects for A.P. during their meeting at the secretariat where Mr. Gupta expressed his thanks to the Government for extending its co-operation to the projects.

Mr. Tucker said that necessary action would be taken for completion of approach portion of the works at seven Road Over Bridges where the railway works have been completed and also at eight RoBs where work in railway portion is in progress.

Action will also be taken to take up works at level crossing gates for construction of RoBs and RuBs on cost-sharing basis.

Monitoring work

The officials also identified officers for monitoring critical priority works and to take up issues that came up for discussion between Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Union Railways Minister Suresh Prabhu in April this year.

The General Manager sought permission for laying a road belonging to the State Government at Tirupati to develop the second entry to the railway station there.

The DRM (Guntakal) and TTD Executive Officer are to thrash out the issue, a press release said.
