Telangana Crime Investigation Department (CID) officials confirmed on Thursday that the two sets of question papers -out of which one is given to the students at exam centres- prepared for Eamcet held on May 15 got leaked.

While the crucial question of who tipped off the kingpin in Eamcet-II paper about the location of the press where the paper was printed remained unanswered, the investigators announced that they had arrested two agents in the case. The accused Vishnudhar alias Vishnuvardhan and Thirumal alias Thirumal Rao, both from Hyderabad, were arrested in the case.

The kingpin in the case Rajgopal Reddy has already been detained and being interrogated to identify others persons involved in the case. As the probe progressed, officials surmise that the leaked question paper might have reached more than 30 students. There were brokers and sub-brokers who approached parents of students appearing for the exam.

Rajgopal Reddy took nearly 25 students to Bengaluru and provided them accommodation at a secret place. “The students were tutored about the 320 questions of the two sets of question papers thoroughly,” a police officer said. The students, who came in contact with the accused and his network of agents, were taken to secret locations at least in five cities.

They were kept there for two to three days prior to Eamcet-II exam held on July 9. “This corroborates their absence from their respective coaching academies and institutes at different places in both the States of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh,” sources in CID said. The investigators are confident of nabbing all the persons connected with the case in the next 48 hours. But they couldn’t identify the persons who alerted the kingpin about the place of printing the question paper so far. “Did the information which is maintained as top secret for years together go to the fraudsters from the top level or lower rung employees is what we are inquiring now,” say the officials.
