More rain is in store for the city and the State for the next two days, courtesy the depression traversing the coast of Andhra Pradesh and Odisha.
On Tuesday, Bandlaguda received 41 mm, the highest rainfall up to 10 p.m. Over the last two days, many parts of the city have received over 5 cm of rain. Officials have forecast more rain on Wednesday and possibly on Thursday as well. The rain is expected to decrease after the depression cuts across Telangana and reaches Gujarat, its predicted destination.
Other parts of the city too received moderate rainfall. Velugonda in Wanaparthy received 4.5 cm of rain, the highest recorded for any location in the State at 10 p.m. on Tuesday. So far in Telangana, all but seven districts received above normal rainfall this monsoon. Bhadradri-Kothagudem recorded 50.8 cm of rainfall as on date, the highest for any district in the State.
Weathermen are also watching another system in the Bay of Bengal which is expected to strengthen around July 25. It is yet to be ascertained if this system will bring more rain for the State. A let-down in rain is expected this weekend.
