Modi accorded warm welcome in Telangana

On his maiden visit to Telangana, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was accorded warm welcome by the Governor E.S.L.Narasimhan, Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and others at the Begumpet Airport on Sunday afternoon.

Mr. Modi accompanied by Union Ministers - Anant Kumar and Suresh Prabhu - arrived by special Indian Air Force plane at 2.10 pm. Mr. Narasimhan first greeted him followed by Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao presenting a bouquet and shawl. Several TRS Ministers and BJP leaders including Union Minister M.Venkaiah Naidu were present.

The Prime Minister and other dignitaries left for Komatibanda in Gajwel constituency of Medak district in two IAF helicopters at 2.37 pm. The Prime Minister during his short visit inaugurated phase-I of Mission Bhagiratha drinking water project for every household at Komatibanda in Chief Minister’s Gajwel constituency.

In Komatibanda he laid the foundation for Manoharabad-Kothapalli new railway line connecting Hyderabad and Karimnagar besides dedicating the 2x600 MW Singareni Thermal Power Project at Jaipur in Adilabad. He laid foundation for Telangana Super Thermal Power Project State - I (Ramagundam), Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences, Warangal and revival of Ramagundam Fertilizer plant.

On his return to the city, Mr. Modi addressed BJP public meeting at Lal Bahadur Stadium.

After his public meeting, Mr. Modi was given a warm send off by the Governor, Chief Minister, TRS Ministers and BJP leaders at the Begumpet airport. He left Hyderabad at 7.45 pm
