Mission Bhagiratha work is progressing fast and the trial run for supplying water to Kamareddy, Banswada, Bodhan and Jukal constituencies in old Nizamabad district has already commenced, said Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao.

Examining the works at Peddareddypally in Pulkal mandal near Singur on Friday, the Minister said drinking water would be supplied up to Tadamanur through Mission Bhagiratha and water would be supplied to 10 constituencies by the end of this month.

“Drinking water would be supplied to Narayanakhed and Medak constituencies by March 15 and other constituencies by March 25. “A dream of six decades has been fulfilled and the works taken up beyond politics. We are moving a year ahead of deadline,” said Mr. Harish Rao adding that drinking water problem during summer will also be addressed.

Referring to Singur water, Mr. Harish Rao said water would be supplied for three crops under canals. “Project works were pending for the past eight years and after coming to power, we have completed them. The villages are becoming centres for development with 24-hour power supply. The ayacut has increased with restoration of tanks under Mission Kakatiya,” he added.

Agriculture Minister Pocharam Srinivas Reddy said bulk of the water would reach the villages by January 21 and intra-pipe lines would then be laid.
