Sushil Kumar Modi, Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar, said that the Mission Bhagiratha was an excellent programme which would address the drinking water problems of people across the State. He said that the good programmes taken up by the government would be replicated in their state.
Accompanied by Chief Secretary S.P. Singh, Mr Sushil Kumar Modi visited Komatibanda and Erravalli villages in the Gajwel constituency, being represented by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao. While Komatibanda stands for Mission Bhagiratha programme which was formally inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the past, Erravalli stands for the construction of double bed-room houses for the first time in the State. Both are flagship programmes of the State which were visited Mr Sushil Kumar.
“Mission Bhagiratha has been resembling the effort made by sage Bhagiratha to bring river Ganga. Trying to supply drinking water to every house by spending as much as ₹47,000 crore in three years is Herculean task, which must be appreciated,” said Mr. Sushil Kumar.
He also visited the education hub being constructed at Gajwel town and double bed-room houses constructed at Erravalli. Mission Bhagiratha Chief Engineer Vijaya Prakash, and Collector P. Venkataram Reddy participated in the programme.
Visits police station
Mr. Sushil Kumar visited the Punjagutta police station to learn lessons for implementation in his home-State.
Mr. Modi, who was in the city to attend GST Council meetings, was impressed with a presentation that Telangana DGP Anurag Sharma had made on state of the police force in the State. Wanting to learn more, he visited the Punjagutta police station. “He spent more than 45 minutes visiting all areas in the police station. He compared the structure and functioning of the personnel at the police station to a corporate entity and was surprised,” ACP M. Venkateshwarlu said.
