The mystery behind the disappearance of Ch. Rajender Reddy, 31, of Uppal was unravelled by the police on Thursday when they caught a man, J. Venkat Reddy, who admitted to have killed the former.
The accused, Venkat Reddy, led the police to the body of Rajender which was found lying in a decomposed state at a secluded place in Pasumamula on the city outskirts.
Accomplices
Venkat Reddy’s accomplices, Anil, Srinivas and Raju, accused of being involved in the killing, are still at large.
Used to run brothel
Rajender Reddy, hailing from Pedavedu of Shabad in Ranga Reddy district, used to live at Gokhalenagar in Uppal. Police investigation revealed that he was accused of running a brothel and used Venkat Reddy, a car driver, for ferrying sex workers and clients.
In March, 2011, the police raided a brothel being run by Rajender Reddy and caught some persons, including Venkat Reddy. The latter was remanded to prison and came out on bail after some days. As the “arrest in brothel case” brought disrespect to the family, the driver’s elder brother, Venugopal Reddy, committed suicide later.
Feeling of bitterness
Venkat Reddy now felt that Rajender Reddy was responsible for his brother’s death. “Moreover, he also believed that Rajender Reddy didn’t try to get him released from prison, though the latter had money and men at his disposal,” Uppal Inspector Laxmikantha Reddy said.
He planned to eliminate Rajender Reddy. On December 29, the driver and his three associates drove down to Boduppal in a car and invited him to a party.
After stopping at an isolated place, they consumed beer and all of a sudden attacked him with empty bottles.
Later, they took him to Pasumamula and smashed his head with boulders and fled.
