Minors held on robbery charge

The Saifabad police on Monday arrested four minors on charges of kidnapping and robbing a man of his belongings last month.

According to police, four minors, who were in a car, offered lift to G. Anil Kumar, who hailed from Khammam district, as he was waiting at the Public Gardens bus stop to go to Kukatpally. As he got into the car, the offenders took him to Narsingi on the city outskirts.

Later, they robbed him of his belongings, including a laptop, a gold chain weighing one-and-a-half tola, two mobile phones, ATM cards and Rs. 2,000. After committing the offence, they left him in the Tolichowki area and sped away.

Police caught the offenders after they were found moving suspiciously in a rented car near Imax on Sunday. On interrogation, they confessed to the crime, police said. They recovered the laptop, gold chain and one mobile phone from the offenders.
