In a shocking incident, a 12-year-old girl was allegedly raped, repeatedly, by her mother’s paramour at their rented house in Hanuman Nagar in Meerpet, police said.
The incident came to light only on Saturday, when the victim informed her mother about the penetrative sexual assault by the accused A. Ramesh, in her absence . The girl told her mother that the accused threatened to kill her if she revealed about the assaults to anyone, said A Manmohan, inspector, Meerpet.
According to him, around 12 noon on Saturday, the accused, an almirah repairer, came home in an inebriated condition and forced himself on the minor girl .
“The incident took place when the girl’s mother went out on work,” the inspector said, adding that the accused and the girl’s mother were living together in the same house ever since the latter’s divorce. The Class VII girl informed that the accused raped her a couple of times in the past too. Based on the complaint lodged by her mother, a case was booked against Ramesh who was arrested by the police on Monday.
