A minor and his father Ramulu (45) were arrested by the police on Tuesday in connection with the shooting down of a 13-year-old tribal boy Mudavath Omkar in the forests at Kulkacharla in Ranga Reddy district a fortnight ago.

Omkar, the arrested minor and their friend had set out for hunting in the forest abutting their village on March 21. The arrested minor, who brought along with him a country-made firearm belonging to his father,

suddenly aimed the weapon at Omkar and pulled the trigger even as the other boy watched helplessly. Omkar died on the spot. The accused minor fled the spot while the boy went to the nearby thanda and informed the elders about the murder.

The minor and Ramulu, a farmer, were absconding since then. They were arrested on Tuesday.
