Ministers’ help sought in acquisition of land for Palamuru-RR project

Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao has requested the elected representatives of Mahabubnagar district, particularly those from the ruling party, to cooperate with the government in the acquisition of land for Palamuru-Rangareddy lift irrigation project under the provisions of land purchase policy by encouraging land and property owners.

In a review meeting held on Friday with Ministers from Mahabubnagar, Jupally Krishna Rao and C. Laxma Reddy, State Planning Board vice-chairman S. Niranjan Reddy, Principal Secretary of Irrigation S.K. Joshi, Resettlement and Rehabilitation Commissioner Manick Raj and others, the Minister asked the officials to acquire land with a proper plan. The Minister stated that a video conference would be held on the issue again on Monday.

Later, in a meeting with Assembly Speaker S. Madhusudana Chary, the Irrigation Minister discussed the progress of Mission Kakatiya works in Warangal district. The Minister explained to the Speaker that it was planned to give water to 64,000 acres ayacut under Devadula project by resolving some minor issues.

Engineers-in-Chief C. Muralidhar and P. Vijaya Prakash, and Irrigation Department officials from Warangal also participated in the meeting.
