Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Minister Jupally Krishna Rao on Wednesday found officials to be lackadaisical in executing works under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme in Mancherial district.

During his visit to Narsingapur (S) village in Jaipur mandal he found the officials could not give satisfactory replies to his questions with regard to works and expressed anguish after the interaction.

The Minister asked Collector R.V. Karnan to transfer out District Rural Development Agency Project Director Venkati holding him responsible for the lacunae in execution of works. He also ordered suspension of three village level staff responsible for overseeing works and payments to wage seekers.

He visited Venkatraopet in Luxettipet mandal and Madhapur in Dandepalli. He interacted with villages in the former and inaugurated a newly constructed gram panchayat building at the latter.
