Mettuguda-Begumpet metro rail electric traction okayed

L&T Metro Rail (Hyderabad) - LTMRH, the concessonnaire building the Hyderabad Metro Rail project announced on Monday that the Chief Electrical Inspector, Government of India, D.V.S. Raju has conducted statutory inspection of the Overhead Electric Traction System (OETS) between Begumpet and Mettuguda Metro stations and accorded sanction for its “Energisation”.

“Energisation of OETS will facilitate conducting of oscillation tests of the metro trains by Research Designs and Standards Organisation (RDSO) of the Ministry of Railways and thereby certificate on satisfactory tests. Thereafter, LTMRHL will conduct trial runs on the metro trains in this section,” said Mr. Raju.

The sections from Nagole to Mettuguda and Miyapur to S.R Nagar have already been energised after obtaining his CEIG and trial runs too were completed. “It is indeed a matter of delight for Hyderabad Metro Rail Project and we are thankful to Mr. Raju for conducting the inspection as it will help bring the services of metro rail to the citizens at the earliest,” said L&TMRH MD & CEO Shivanand Nimbargi, in a press release.
