The Government of Telangana will hold talks with the authorities of Hyderabad Metro Rail and L&T on Saturday to pace up the ongoing works further.

This was stated in the Assembly by Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Friday during clarifications on the budget debate. Not an inch of land given to Metro Rail, including the one at Rayadurg, was transferred to others, he said.

“Some people (parties) wish that we commit mistakes, but we won’t tread such a path even if they prostrate before us,” Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao said, adding that the Metro Rail was progressing as scheduled and would be commissioned on time. Among the 200 metro rail projects going on across the world, Hyderabad Metro Rail was progressing the fastest, he said.

However, the Chief Minister did not respond on M. Bhatti Vikramarka’s (Congress) plea for clarification on the doubts being raised on the completion of the project in time due to “changes of alignment proposed by the government.”
