MBA graduate commits suicide

Manjula (24), a MBA degree holder who got married eight months ago, ended her life by hanging in her house at Venkatreddynagar in Uppal on Thursday.

Manjula’s family members alleged that her husband Pratap, a home guard with Mangalhat police station, drove her to suicide by harassing her for additional dowry.

Wine shop burgled

Thieves took away Rs. 2 lakh from Kakatiya wine shop located on Balanagar main road after lifting its shutter on Thursday. The shop had an iron grill inside but it had a vent to collect cash from customers. The offenders sneaked inside through a vent and took away the cash from the counter which was left unlocked, the police said.

Gold, cash stolen

Burglars made off with gold ornaments weighing 130 grams and some cash after breaking into a house at Gajularamaram in Jeedimetla on Thursday. The inmates went to attend a marriage on Wednesday. They returned on Thursday to find the house burgled.

Woman run over by RTC bus

A 62-year-old woman was killed when she came under the wheels of an RTC bus at Rathifile bus station in Secunderabad on Thursday. Arundhati of Guntur had seen off her sister leaving for America the previous day and had come to Secunderabad to catch a train for Guntur when the accident occurred.
