A massive crowd is expected for the public meeting of Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) to coincide with its foundation day at the Parade grounds here on Monday.
The party has made arrangements to mobilise 10 lakh people at the rate of one lakh from each district but senior leaders said the turnout could be bigger. When the meeting was held last time a decade ago, the crowd was seen proceeding to the venue over the flyovers even after TRS president K. Chandrasekhar Rao finished his speech.
The police said it will deploy a 4,000 strong force for security and made arrangements for parking of vehicles at several locations in different directions. But, senior officers confided that the traffic will go for a toss in view of diversions and the crowd having to trek long distances on foot from parking lots.
The venue was spruced up for the occasion when Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy and Commercial Taxes Minister T. Srinivas Yadav inspected the arrangements on Sunday. A huge contingent of police had already taken positions.
Sources said the turnout was likely to exceed expectations because the aspirants for nominated posts in the government vied with each other to mobilise crowds.
