Massage parlours raided

Cyberabad Police raided 12 massage parlours in Madhapur and Gachibowli on Saturday after being tipped off that these establishments were being used for flesh trade. One person was arrested.

According to the police, the parlours were operated by one person Dasari Siddartha, who was arrested. At the time of the raids, the police claimed to have found incriminating evidence suggesting that the massage parlours and spas were being used as brothels. Siddartha, the police claim, would traffic women from Thailand, north-east India and Punjab, besides employing locals. In all 65 women were rescued.

Through its inquiries, the police learnt that the spas had several hundred clients on membership basis. Norms for spas including transparent glass doors, CCTV cameras and maintaining registers for recording customer preferences, were flouted, the police said
