Was a marble-cutting machine used to cut the body of the pregnant woman whose parts were found stuffed in a two gunny bags near Botanical Garden in Kondapur on January 30? Police believe so.
They surmised this, based on the forensic doctors’ opinion that a machine was used to cut the body into pieces.
Cyberabad police have already deployed teams to enquire with ranite shops in areas surrounding Gachibowli to know whether any employees have gone absconding or any machine is missing.
Questioning continues
“We are also questioning the hardware shop owners to find out if they came across any new person who bought the tool in recent days,” the officer said.
A top police official said that they had sent the video footage of surveillance cameras in the area to Advanced Data Processing Research Institute (Adrin) of the National Remote Sensing Centre to enhance the video footage to identify the car which dumped the gunny bags near Botanical Garden on January 29.
The police official said that on Friday they had written to the Crime Investigation Department of 25 States, seeking help in establishing the identity of a woman, and added that a letter was also addressed to Telangana CID chief Govind Singh.
Meanwhile, the top officials said that so far they had made no headway in the case and further if they did not have any clues, they would hand over the case to Central Crime Station for further investigation, as it was effecting normal policing.
Currently, the police are suspecting a few people and tracking their movements.
On Thursday evening, after seeing the posters, a middle aged person from Golconda approached the police, stating that his pregnant sister had been missing for the past five months.
“However, he gave up after seeing the portrait and clothes of the victim”.
