Immigration sleuths at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Shamshabad, on Sunday, caught an air passenger who travelled to the city from Riyadh on a duplicate passport.

The accused, Mohammed Riyaz, was handed over to the RGIA police. Riyaz is a native of Kerala, who went to Riyadh in 2015 and was working as a labourer, police said.

“Unable to bear his employer’s torture, he decided to come back to India. He managed to obtain a passport with the same name but different photograph and landed in RGIA on Sunday around 6 p.m.” said M. Mahesh, inspector, RGIA.

The immigration officials found the passport had been tampered with and detained Riyaz, police said. A case under Passport Act and cheating was invoked against him.
