April 17, 2015 11:51 am | Updated 07:10 pm IST - HYDERABAD:

A man was lynched by the residents of IDL Colony in Kukatpally after he attacked with knife a woman he had been allegedly stalking on Friday. Police identified the man as Raju, who attracted other family members of the woman in the early hours of Friday.

The woman and three of her family members, who suffered knife wounds, were shifted to hospital. "Raju was allegedly harassing the woman to marry him for past few months, but she and her family elders rejected his proposal," the police said.

At around 5 a.m., Raju knocked on the doors of the woman's house. As she opened the doors, he picked up an argument with her and started attacking her with the knife, the police said.

When her parents resisted, he inflicted knife wound on them too. Neighbours and residents of the locality woke up on hearing screams. Angered over the attack, they retaliated by killing him instantly.
