A housewife, who filed a suit for maintenance against her husband, suffered critical wound when the latter slit her throat with a razor on the premises of Rajendranagar court on Monday.

The victim, Soujanya, was rushed to a private hospital where she was operated upon and is recuperating. The woman in her mid-30s came out of the court hall and was passing by the open place when her husband Nagender Babu suddenly emerged.

Even as she wondered what he was up to, Babu took a blade and slit her throat. Before the onlookers realised what had happened, Babu fled the spot. Babu and Soujanya got married nearly 10 years ago. They developed differences allegedly after Babu developed relationship with a woman. Citing this Ms. Soujanya approached the court seeking divorce. She attended the court and was walking out of the premises when her husband attacked her.
