A woman strangled her husband to death and attempted to make it look like an accidental death at Chintalmet in Saifabad, police said on Thursday.

The accused, Manjula (38), was detained by the police after she gave contradictory statements on her husband A. Laxmi Narayana’s death, who had ligature marks on his throat and injuries on legs. She initially maintained that Narayana, an RTC conductor, died after a fall from the staircase. The woman later admitted that she strangled him to death in the house the previous night after a quarrel on family matters.
