A 25-year-old man was arrested by the Cyberabad police on Tuesday for allegedly stealing Rs.9.13 lakh from an ATM at Anjaiahnagar under Raidurgam police station limits a few days ago.

The police recovered Rs.9.13 lakh from the house of the arrested person, 25-year-old V. Udaya Krishna of Borabanda.

He was working in Secure Value Agency which would collect cash from the banks concerned and replenish it in ATMs.

The agency manager, Srinivas, asked two employees - Naveen and Krishna - to replenish Rs.18.48 lakh in an ATM at Anjaiahnagar. The duo loaded cash in ATM on Thursday and later Krishna kept the keys with him.

On the same day, he went to the ATM centre with the keys available with him and stole Rs.9.13 lakh. The next day, Naveen called up Krishna for attending to the scheduled programme but he asked him to wait till he reached there and escaped after switching off his mobile phone.
