It was a car driver, facing a dowry harassment case, who had been sending objectionable messages to MPs, MLAs and IAS officers for over two months.
Kyatham Krishna (25), living in Bapujinagar of Bowenpally, was dejected as his wife, along with their children, was living separately having filed a dowry harassment complaint against him, police said on Monday. While fighting the case registered a few months ago, the driver received some vulgar messages on his mobile phone.
“Krishna believed that his brother-in-law had sent the obscene messages and lodged a complaint with the Balanagar Police,” Commissioner’s Task Force Additional DCP P. Rameshaiah said. Even as his complaint about vulgar messages was pending with police, the driver stumbled upon a mobile phone at Tadbun in November last year.
Already dejected over the case, the driver slipped into depression further as there was no action on his complaint and began sending similar objectionable text messages to public representatives and officials. He collected the mobile numbers of VIPs from the Internet. On receipt of a complaint from the personal assistant of Secunderabad MLA Jayasudha, the Chilakalguda Police registered a case recently.
The Task Force (North) team traced the messages to Krishna after identifying the International Mobile Equipment Identity numbers of the mobile phones he had used and caught him.
