Reportedly worried over backtracking on separate Telangana State, a businessman ended his life by hanging in his house at Jeedimetla village here on Monday. Forty-eight-year-old Gattu Sanjeeva Rao was found hanging to the ceiling in his house in the evening.
A suicide note purportedly written by him with a pencil stated that Seemandhra leaders were responsible for his death, the Petbasheerabad ACP Srinivasa Rao said. The note also indicated that he was resorting to the extreme step worried that the government might backtrack on the formation of separate Telangana State despite already announcing in favour of it. Rao hails from Phanigiri village near Tungaturthy of Nalgonda district. He came to the city nearly 15 years ago and settled at Jeedimetla.
Rao runs a cloth store while his wife does tailoring from the same premises. They have two sons.

Mild tension prevailed in the area as news spread about the suicide and pro-Telangana activists began gathering at his house raising slogans.
Police rushed to the area and shifted the body to Gandhi hospital morgue.
