A 30-year-old man Bookya Ravi died after falling in the sump of his friend’s house at Teachers’ colony in Kushaiguda on Tuesday morning.

The victim’s family members alleged foul play behind his death and urged the police to register a case of murder. Ravi hailing from Dharmaram village of Turkapally mandal in neighbouring Nalgonda district was earning livelihood as construction worker.

“He used to frequent the house of his friend Bal Reddy in RTC colony. The two friends met at Bal Reddy’s house on Monday night and consumed liquor,” the Kushaiguda Sub-Inspector Shankaraiah said. It is suspected that Ravi slipped into the sump of Bal Reddy’s house in the darkness in the early hours of Tuesday.
